Welcome

Grief can leave you feeling helpless, hopeless, and unsure how to move forward. Though we can't take those feelings away, we can help you better understand your own grief and find the grief coping that will work for you, no matter your grieving style or your coping style.

We wish you didn't need us, but we're glad you found us.

We're Eleanor Haley, MS and
Litsa Williams, MA, LCSW-C

the mental health professionals who co-founded
What's Your Grief.

We both experienced multiple death and non-death losses in early adulthood and struggled to find the grief support that worked for us. When we met, working at an organization that was providing grief support to those who had experience traumatic and unexpected deaths, we realized just how many other people were also looking for grief support that went beyond traditional counseling and support groups. We founded What's Your Grief to meet that need.

The online course and webinars you'll find here are part of our effort to provide people creative, accessible, relatable, and evidence-informed grief support that you can tap into from the comfort of home, in your PJs, at your own time and pace. It's the grief support we wish we'd had when we were first grieving, informed by both our professional training and the feedback we've received from thousands of grievers over the last 15 years.

I'm Still Unsure

What can I expect from these courses?
__

All of our losses are different and our styles of grieving and coping vary. These courses were designed for all kinds of thinkers and doers, to help anyone better understand their grief needs and develop new tools to cope.

Practically speaking, that means:

  • a combination of didactic teaching and self-exploration activities for all types of loss, grounded in evidence-informed approaches to grief support.
  • reading, videos, & activities, to accommodate different learning styles.
  • support in tending to both the loss-oriented aspects of grieving, as well as the restoration-oriented aspects of learning to rebuild after a loss.
  • courses created for both intuitive grievers (those emotional and expressive in how they grieve) and instrumental grievers (those who lean more quiet and cognitive or analytical in their grief style).
  • an optional community to join for more connection with others.

Remember, grief is the normal and natural response to loss; it is not something to recover from or fix. Instead, grief support is about learning to have a relationship with someone who has died while learning to take care of ourselves as we grieve. We're confident our courses will help you will both.
